Stars We’ve Lost

Bill Nunn, born William Goldwyn Nunn III, is best remembered for his portrayal of Robbie Robertson in the Spider-Man films directed by Sam Raimi. You might be surprised to know that his early work is in many of Spike Lee’s films—this is because he went to college with the filmmaker. In fact, Bill’s first film credit is in School Daze, which was directed by Spike. The film was shown in theatres back in 1988.

This wouldn’t be his last movie appearance, of course. The talented actor was also in Firehouse Dog, Sister Act, and He Got Game. Bill passed in 2016 at 62 years old.
