Matthew McConaughey was born on November 4, 1969, in Uvalde, Texas. He had planned to attend law school after graduation from college,but he realized he was not interested in becoming a lawyer. Camila Alves was born on January 28, 1982 in Brazil and raised there until the age of 15. At 15, Alves moved to Los Angeles to visit her aunt and decided to stay. After working there for four years as a house-cleaner and waitress, she became fluent in English and decided to make the United States her home.

These two met in 2006 when McConaughey was nearing his 40s and Alves was a mere 24-years-old. They fell got together, fell in love, and eventually had 3 children together. For one interview, McConaughey shared that he felt he was already past his peak and didn’t expect to have children when he met Alves.
